Alliance for Area Agencies on Aging- A4AAA

Vision Statement:

We recognize the vital role of the Aging Network in delivering effective and comprehensive services to older persons and persons with disabilities that are essential to leading healthy and productive lives.

Mission Statement:

To unite the Area Agencies on Aging to be the vehicle for the Aging Network to insure continued stability of its overall commitment to access and excellence of services designed to meet the needs and enrich the lives of older persons and persons with disabilities.

Guiding Principles:

1. Facilitate cooperative healthy relationships among the Aging Network and the Aging and Long Term Service Department.

2. Improve the capacity of the Aging Network to better serve older persons and persons with disabilities through legislative advocacy efforts, training and technical assistance

3. Insure the Aging Network participate in decisions impacting the structure of their service delivery system prior to decisions being made.

4. Develop healthy partnerships that demonstrate respect and trust for healthy competition by inviting providers to serve as advisors.

5. Strive to make programs relevant and accessible to underserved communities to include the economically disadvantaged and those with special needs.

 

Objectives:

1.     Facilitate collaboration for sharing ideas and strategic planning to ensure effective and efficient service delivery throughout the state.

2.     Be involved in the preliminary process and/or preparation of establishing guideline and deadlines with the Aging and Long Term Service Department for the area plan, legislative request, capital outlay request and other requests pertaining to the Aging Network.

3.     Works towards standardization of policies and procedures, program monitoring tools, unit cost worksheet, etc. in compliance with all federal and state laws.

4.     Identify and/or develop standardized training for Aging Network providers.

5.     Work with the Aging and Long Term Service Department to insure the utilization of resources identified for the purpose of new or evolving needs for the development or enhancement of comprehensive and coordinated community-based service system.

6.     Participate in establishing criteria for funding distributions to disburse funds to the Aging Network.
