COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE/AID TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS

NCNMEDD understands that many communities in the region have limited staff for planning and program development. We want to help our communities use their resources to the best advantage and to find additional funds, wherever possible. For that reason, NCNMEDD offers our members assistance in a variety of research, planning, and program implementation activities, within the limits of our own resources.

Generally, the District provides assistance to member governments in HUD CDBG applications, development of ICIP plans, capital outlay requests for senior citizens services, development of local economic development plans and other, related areas. For more information, please call Arturo Archuleta at 827-7313 or rlf@nm.net.

THE DISTRICT ROLE IN COMMUNITY PLANNING

NCNMEDD offers a variety of services to communities in need of assistance with planning, particularly in the development of applications for grants and projects. Within the limits of our own available resources, those services include:

• Assistance in evaluating community needs and resources;
• Assistance in setting community priorities;
• Assistance in locating resources;
• Assistance in preparing grant applications;
• Project administration, where applicable.

Because the District staff is limited, we ask communities to contact us well in advance of anticipated deadlines and to understand that we can supplement but not replace their own staff or volunteer resources.

For more information about assistance for your community, please contact Arturo Archuleta at 827-7313 or rlf@nm.net
