Representative Nick Salazar and Eddie Roy Duran (Pecos Mayor) Break Ground for the Pecos Fire Station Project

Pre-Construction

The Village of Pecos Fire Station will be located on this empty lot in a few short weeks. Months of preparation have gone into getting this project off the ground. Cooperation and support from many different agencies have made this a success. Here is a list of the involved parties who have made this project a reality: The Village of Pecos, Economic Development Administration, Rep. Nick Salazar-Dist. 40, NCNMEDD, Community Assistance Inc.,Engineers Inc./ Wilson & Company, and Elko Construction.

Construction Begins

Big machinery is used to move the dirt for the new Fire Station. Once the foundation is done the walls will go up quickly.
Ground work is time consuming but is key to getting a project started properly. Drainage and slope are important facets to this project as well, due to the large amounts of moisture received in the Pecos region.

Walls Are Going Up

The pace of construction on the Fire Station at Pecos is speeding up. Design of the structure was given utmost importance so as to match the character of the community. Keep an eye on this project because the roof should be added on shortly.

The Walls Go Up

The walls have gone up on the new Fire station at the Village of Pecos. It is possible to view the training center portion of the building (left side), as well as, the working quarters (right side) area for the Volunteer Fire Fighters. Soon to follow, will be the garage area for the Fire trucks and the roof will finish the exterior portion of this project off.

Finishing Touches

Workers are completing the finishing touches to the interior and exterior of the Fire Station in the Village of Pecos. The Village is looking forward to the day the Fire Station can open its doors at the new location to serve and protect an area which has been threatened by numerous fires.
