INFRASTRUCTURE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (ICIP)

NCNMEDD is participating in the effort to develop and maintain a statewide infrastructure capital improvement planning program for local governments. District efforts will place particular emphasis on assisting smaller communities in the completion of data collection, analysis, prioritization and implementation of a local capital improvement program.

This long range capital planning and budgeting process gives communities the opportunity to review all their capital priorities, to integrate them into EDA, HUD or other federal requests and to insure their consideration by the state legislature.

Generally speaking, guidelines for updating existing plans are disseminated by Local Government Division staff in August. Updates or new plans are due annually on September 30.

Eligible entities include: Counties, municipalities, water and sanitation districts, other special districts, Pueblos and tribes, fire districts, mutual domestic water associations and other quasi-governmental agencies.

District staff generally contact local government entities in the District by September 1 to determine their technical assistance needs. For more information on how the District can help your community in the ICIP process, please contact Lesah Sedillo at 476-0107 or lsedillo@ncnmedd.com.
