US ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The U.S. Economic Development Administration's investments establish a foundation for sustainable job growth and durable regional economies. Investments utilize innovation and regional collaboration to attain economic goals. EDA evaluates applications based on these investment priorities: equity, recovery and resilience, workforce development, manufacturing, technology-based economic development, environmentally-sustainable development; and exports and FDI (foreign direct investment).

Current EDA Funding Opportunities
PWEAA: EDA’s Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) programs provide economically distressed communities and regions with comprehensive and flexible resources to address a wide variety of economic needs. This opportunity can support construction, non-construction, planning, technical assistance, and revolving loan fund projects. This program leverages existing regional assets to support economic development strategies to advance economic prosperity in distressed communities, including those negatively impacted by changes to the coal economy. There are no submission deadlines under this opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
Planning and Local Technical Assistance: through its Planning and Local Technical Assistance programs, EDA assists eligible recipients in developing economic development plans and studies designed to build capacity and guide the economic prosperity and resiliency of an area or region. Only EDA-designated District Organizations and Indian Tribes are eligible recipients for Partnership Planning awards.

The North Central NM Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a community-driven blueprint for growing the regional economy. EDA uses the CEDS to guide their strategic investments in our region.
